Columbia Hands of Hope: Scholarship Opportunity

Pastors Judy and Arnold Williams of Hands of Hope Interdenominational Church are the co-founders of Columbia Hands of Hope. Hands of Hope is a certified nurses aide training program in South Carolina. Through the Columbia Hands of Hope training program, an individual has the opportunity to gain the knowledge and expertise needed to become a nurse’s assistant. Ann Mickle and Alan Bass recognize that the need is great for educational opportunities which lead to greater economic opportunities (i.e. better jobs, higher wages). Hands of Hope is a church-based community program which meets those objectives. Therefore, this year Mickle & Bass is sponsoring three scholarships. In January of 2018, six additional scholarship will be sponsored by Mickle & Bass. The scholarships include tuition payment for the program. As a result, Mickle and Bass covers not only tuition, but also the cost of the uniform, shoes and certain medical equipment needed for the training.

Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach

For the past 25 years, the tradition of the Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach is to feed the hungry. They serve the working poor, senior citizens, veterans, children, transients and the homeless. Last year, the Community Kitchen served more than 110,000 guests without regard to their situation or condition. The meals and fellowship are provided at no cost to their guests.

Mickle & Bass is proud to support the efforts of Community Kitchen to provide nourishment to those who are hungry.
